Baicells Nova 436 eNodeBs: Carrier Aggregation to Deliver Twice the Capacity, Twice the Coverage
WLANmall is happy to announce the availability of some pretty cool products from Baicells. We’ve always liked that Baicells delivers LTE solutions that help ISPs expand their wireless coverage so you can deliver high-speed, reliable access in non-line-of-site (NLOS) areas where typical PTP and PTMP solutions just can’t deliver. ().
This week Baicells announced the availability of their Nova 436 LTE band 42/43/48 eNodeBs that can support two carriers—in either dual carrier (DC) or carrier aggregation (CA) mode—in a single base station. In the DC mode , each carrier is configured as an individual cell with its own management interface. This means the Nova 436 will have two IP addresses, one for each cell and it will also display in the OMC as two individual eNBs that can operate on independent 20 MHz channels for a total of channel width of 40 MHz.
The CA mode, a single cell is configured with a primary cell (p-cell) and a secondary cell (s-cell). By aggregating the two configured carriers, you can basically double your downlink capacity after changing the antenna to a 4 port or 2 side by side 2 port models.
Building upon some already cool technology, Baicells is now delivering products which show that they understand the needs of the ISP community. They were one of the first affordable LTE solutions on the market and now, the flexible Nova 436 really allow you to grow your LTE services with customer demand.
